The Retreat
As you enter the co-living space, you’ll find a leather oval settee sofa with modern art displays and two cabinets. Inside the left cabinet you’ll find a collection of board games and 300+ movies available for use on either your room tv or shown on a projector for outdoor movies in the front yard. In the right cabinet you’ll find a array of outdoor games and activities for use in/around Sea Point including tennis rackets, beach towels, outdoor checkers, portable weights/bands, yoga mats and hammocks.
The lobby has a horticultural vibe with various plants and a full-length mirror for a ‘last-look’ before heading out on the town. As you walk down the hallway, you’ll find the guest bath and a woven mat that includes polaroid selfies from all of the digital nomads who have stayed at the house.
The dining room features a long wooden table that accommodates up to 12 guests with comfortable bucket chairs that also fit under the table for more space when having small events. Here you’ll also find a moveable/extendable 55” television & sound bar. The corner of the dining room has two walls of accordion doors that open to back pool garden area. You’ll also find a bar fridge, liquor shelf and a raised bar with seating for three that separates the kitchen.
The kitchen is a true “chef’s playground” with every appliance and utensil that you may need (if there’s something missing, let us know!). The coffee bar includes a coffee pot, grinder, water kettle and a couple French-presses with a variety of coffee, tea and biscuit options for the mornings. A 5-burner gas stove with an array of cookware is accompanied by an ice maker, ice crusher, Soda Stream, blender, air fryer, toaster & microwave. A 6-unit cabinet offers each room the ability to store their dry goods, while any cold items can be kept in their individual refrigerators or in the main fridge (each room has a unique colored rubber band for indication). A shared pantry is available for guests that includes a variety of spices and baking/cooking ingredients. Under the double basin kitchen sink you’ll find a pull-out recycling bin, trash can and compost bin. Endless plateware and glassware (including reusable plastic ones to bring to the beach or park) complement the full bar accessories and servingware to showcase your cooking skills.
You’ll also find a washer, dryer & dishwasher under the prep station on the other side of the bar along with a laundry closet with detergents, softeners, an iron and ironing board. Each shower is fitted with a drying string or you can use the portable drying rack should you wish to airdry your clothes.
Amazon Echo devices are found in each room as well as the lobby and dining rooms allowing for music to be played, to set a timer or ask it a question. There are security cameras facing the lobby entrance, dining room and kitchen (video only) to ensure the safety of all guests.
